“Ikh Mongol” Tourist Camp

White Tiger Nomads welcomes you to our luxury ger-camp located amidst the stunning landscape of Gorhi-Terelj National Park, which is only 2-hour drive from capital Ulaanbaatar. The camp offers an extraordinary combination of tradition and sophistication, intertwining traditional style and superb service, resulting in expedition experience.

Ikh Mongol ger-camp was established in the National Park in 2006 after 2-year project and relevant works to obtain permission to set up a tourist camp in this area. The world’s tallest Morin Khuur, the horse-headed fiddle is towering in our camp at 8.40 m, which surpasses the second tallest Morin Khuur twice. Morin Huur is a symbol of our nation and is played with a bow and produces a sound which is poetically described as expansive and unrestrained, like a horse neighing.

The camp consists of 21 gers, symbolizing 21 Green Tara of Buddha and are furnished with a set of Mongolian carved furniture in a traditional style and our deluxe and twin-bed gers have full floor cover of shirdeg, richly ornamented felt carpets for adorning the whole floor. Beds, stools, tables and other furniture have beautiful carvings and are made with centuries’ old traditional style.

With a view to providing our esteemed guests the highest standard of comforts our tourist camp has the following facilities:

-Huuriin Urguu, a big ger dedicated to the tallest Morin Huur in the world is a place where the legendary Mongolian horse-headed fiddle melody is played all day long. This genuine instrument of the nomadic Mongols is considered as a symbol of fortune, because it is thought to have a magical power in music to avoid something bad.
